Step 1 Use the Hdrus Hansa Yellow Light and Gamboge with wet paper and lay downt eh initial wash. Let Dry in the Tulips. One tulip iwll not be painted. Use a wash of Hansa Yellow Light, Gamboge and water, to paint arround the tulip.
Step 2 Do not paint the first tulip and now add another tuip to paint around. Use the Gamboge and Hansa Yellow Light.
Step 3 Add two more tulips to the do not paint list. now use Gamboge and Hansa Yellow Deep in the background.
Step 4 Add two more tulips to paint around. Use Gamboge, Hansa Deep Yellow and Brilliant Cad Red to the negative space around the flowers.
Step 5 Now use the Hansa Yellow Light and Phthalo Green to lay a light was of the foliage area. When you add the wash remember to not paint another 2 tulips.
Step 6 Create the sterms and leaves the same way you created the flowers. Paint the area around the sterms to add the darks and lights of the leaves. Try to cut out another tulip in the background.
Step 7 Paint directly to the flowers and leaves to add the detail. Start with the Gamboge mixed with Hansa Yellow Deep to build a hard edge on one side and a faded edge to create the round of the petals.
Step 8 Add more detail to the flower petals and add more to the foliage area. Have fun negative space painting these tulips. After all of the space has been filled then work on the detail. The detail adds depth and crispness to the painting.
